The MobileHCI Conference Series has shaped research, development and practice in services used on mobile or within mobile contexts for over two decades. We interpret mobility broadly and welcome contributions related to any aspect of mobile HCI technology, systems, devices, techniques, experience, application, methods, tools, theories, and new perspectives.

The conference theme in 2022 is “Facing Mobile Realities.” We cannot deny the pervasive impact of mobile technologies over the last two years of this latest pandemic. They have become the de facto means for connecting children and youth to their virtual classrooms, for remote doctor visits, to keep us ‘in touch’ with loved ones, for allowing us to keep working, and everything else in between. Yet, as researchers and practitioners, we are humbled by the many gaps that have needed our renewed attention. Facing Mobile Realities, our theme for MobileHCI’22, is a friendly nudge encouraging us to be ever more mindful in our research and towards bringing us closer to one another, socially, emotionally and even physically.
