Aims and Scope

IET Computer Vision publishes original research papers in a wide range of areas of computer vision. The aim of the journal is to publish the highest-quality research that is relevant and topical to the field, but not forgetting those works that seek to introduce new horizons and set the agenda for future avenues of research in computer vision.

The main aim of the journal is to publish research articles reporting novel methodologies and significant results of interest. Review or survey articles are also welcome. Articles that report mainly applications of current and existing techniques for specific uses may not be suitable, unless they are of interest to a large section of the readership and the computer vision community in general. Articles that focus on low-level vision and image processing tasks should be submitted to journals such as IET Image Processing.

IET Computer Vision welcomes high-quality research articles reporting novel methodologies and significant results of interest in:

Deep learning models in computer vision
Multimodal foundational models
Biologically and perceptually motivated computer vision
Detection, representation, and analysis of objects, humans, and animals
General image and video understanding
Review or survey articles
Other areas of relevance within the scope of computer vision will be considered.

In all articles, use of benchmark datasets will be expected, unless the authors are proposing a new dataset which they also release for use by the computer vision community. Articles that only use closed datasets will not be considered.
