Special Issue on AI-Generated Personas: Representing User Needs with Generative AI Models

This special issue explores the transformative impact of AI and ML technologies, particularly Generative AI, on human-computer interaction (HCI). We seek to critically analyze how these technologies, including deepfakes and large language models (LLMs), enhance user understanding and persona creation in HCI research and practice. Key themes include the potential and risks of Gen AI in representing user needs, automatic user insight detection, stakeholder interactions with AI-generated personas, and the impact on user segmentation. We invite both quantitative and qualitative studies to address this evolving phenomenon comprehensively.
