Call For Papers
Bigdata 2020 has obtained approval from the following journals to organize
- Special Issues in Services Transactions on Services Computing (STSC),
- Special Issues in Services Transactions on Big Data (STBD),
- Special Issues in Services Transactions on Internet of Things (STIOT),
- Special Issues in Services Transactions on Cloud Computing (STCC),
- Special Issues in International Journal of Web Services Research (JWSR)(Indexed by SCI & EI),
- Special Issues in International Journal of Business Process Integration and Management (IJBPIM).

BigData 2020 organizing committee invites you to participate in 2020 edition of BigData, to be held on June 22 – June 26, 2020, Honolulu, Hawaii, USA.

BigData 2020 is a member of Services Conference Federation (SCF). SCF 2020 will have the following 10 collocated service-oriented sister conferences: 2020 International Conference on Web Services (ICWS 2020), 2020 International Conference on Cloud Computing (CLOUD 2020), 2020 International Conference on Services Computing (SCC 2020), 2020 International Conference on Big Data (BigData 2020),2020 International Conference on AI & Mobile Services (AIMS 2020), and 2020 World Congress on Services (SERVICES 2020), 2020 International Conference on Internet of Things (ICIOT 2020), 2020 International Conference on Cognitive Computing (ICCC 2020), 2020 International Conference on Edge Computing (EDGE 2020), and 2020 International Conference on Blockchain (ICBC 2020).

The technical program of BigData 2020 will consist of a set of regular tracks and a new set of special tracks. The regular tracks are: regular research track, regular applications track, and short paper track. These tracks are similar to previous BigData submission tracks. The regular research track will emphasize both theoretical and experimental research contributions. The regular applications track will pay special attention to insights derived from real world big data applications, particularly with respect to experience reports and evaluation results. The short paper track will consider concise papers for timely dissemination of new ideas and exploratory results.

The special tracks will significantly expand the scope of BigData to include innovative contributions that cover the entire lifecycle of big data research: (1) vision papers to point out emerging challenges, (2) data sets and benchmarks (summarized by short papers) that enable innovative big data research, (3) technical papers that describe significant research output, (4) applications and experience papers that apply and evaluate research methods and tools, and (5) survey papers that organize and summarize important research results and resources. Accordingly, these broadly defined contributions will be evaluated by PC members with special interest and expertise in each phase of the research lifecycle: vision papers, research contributions, applications and experiences, and enabling resources that include data sets, benchmarks, and surveys. The two special tracks included for BigData 2020 are: Real-Time Big Data Analytics, and Big Data/Smart Cities.

We also define the technical scope of big data research broadly from the 5V perspective. In addition to the traditional definition of big volume and high velocity, we also encourage submissions that describe techniques and tools for handling big variety and high veracity. Of special interest are submissions that start from big data containing big noise, and achieve significantly improved value of output data.

Technical topics of interest include but are not limited to the following:

- Big Data Storage
- Big Data Indexing
- Big Data Cleaning
- Big Data Modeling
- Big Data Analytics
- Big Data Applications
- Big Data Value Chain
- 5G for Big Data
- Big Data Security and Privacy

All submissions must be original and previously unpublished papers. The submitted manuscripts will be peer-reviewed by at least 3 program committee members. Accepted and presented papers from all BigData tracks will appear in the conference proceedings. Selected research track papers will be invited for extension and revision for publication (after journal reviewing process) in special issues of the Services Transactions on Services Computing (STSC) , Services Transanctions on Big Data (STBD) , International Journal of Web Services Research (JWSR) , and International Journal of Business Process Integration and Management (IJBPIM) . JWSR is indexed by SCI and EI [Link] .

Submitted Research Track and Application Track manuscripts will be limited to 15 (LNCS Proceedings style) pages and REQUIRED to be formatted using the LNCS Proceedings template ( WORD , Latex ). Submitted Short Paper track manuscripts will be limited to 8 (LNCS Proceedings style) pages. The authors can extend a maximum of 2 pages for each paper but will have to pay extra fees for each extra page. Unformatted papers and papers beyond the maximum page limit may not be reviewed. Electronic submission of manuscripts (in PDF or Word format) is required. Detailed instructions for electronic paper preparation and submission, panel proposals, tutorial proposals, workshop proposals, and review process can be found at conference web site.

The Proceedings of Bigdata 2020 will be published in the Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) by Springer International Publishing AG. Currently the Abstracting and Indexing services covered by Springer’s data feeds for LNCS proceedings include ISI Conference Proceedings Citation Index (included in Web of Science), Engineering Index EI (Compendex and Inspec databases), DBLP, Google Scholar, IO-Port, MathSciNet, Scopus, and ZBlMath . For all 10 collocated conferences of SCF 2020, the content of this proceedings volume will be made freely accessible to anyone in the Springer’s digital library after four years upon publication.

For each paper, authors choose one appropriate track at submission time. However, the PC co-chairs may assign reviewers with appropriate expertise from all areas and tracks for each submission. In addition, if session slots are available, manuscripts submitted to one track may be recommended to another track for further consideration. If a paper is accepted by a track different from the original choice, the authors have the discretion to agree to the PC recommendation or to decline the paper acceptance.

At least one author of each accepted paper is required to register for the conference and present the paper. One Best Paper award and one Best Student Paper award will be granted at BigData 2020. The first author of the best student paper must be a full-time student. The Best Paper Awards will be sponsored by Springer, which is a leading global scientific, technical and medical portfolio, providing researchers in academia, scientific institutions and corporate R&D departments with quality content through innovative information, products and services.
