Special Issues
Special Issue on 22nd International Symposium on Boron, Borides and Related Materials (ISBB2024)
Submission Date: 2024-11-30

ISBB, the International Symposium on Boron, Borides and Related Materials, is one of the most important symposia in the field of "BORON" research and covers recent progress on synthesis, properties, and applications of boron, borides, and related materials. Boron and its related compounds are one of the interesting topics that are getting more and more attention all over the world. We expect contributions to interdisciplinary research including material science, chemistry, and physics. We welcome reports on nanomaterials and new synthesis strategies of boron-related compounds, as well as structural and chemical properties. Among important topics, we will also welcome reports on advanced composites, alloys, and 2D structures of boron (e.g. boride-carbides, boron hydrides, boron nitrides, high-entropy borides, borophene). In addition to fundamental research, application-oriented studies such as catalysis and hydrogen storage, improved physical and mechanical properties, and industrial production of boron materials are also expected. We expect up-to-date original contributions to interdisciplinary research including material science, chemistry, and physics... This special issue accepts research on recent progress in the synthesis, properties, and applications of boron, borides, and related materials. Guest editors: Executive Guest Editor Assoc. Special Issue on Topological Materials for Thermoelectric Energy Conversion
Submission Date: 2025-05-31

Thermoelectric technologies can convert heat into electricity and vice versa, showing great potential for power generation and greenhouse-gas-free cooling and refrigeration. Many classic thermoelectric materials are famous topological insulators and have shown high (magneto-) thermoelectric performance. Recently, with the surge of topological semimetals, more and more efforts have been dedicated to the exploration of topological semimetals for high transverse thermoelectric performance including Nernst and anomalous Nernst effect. This special issue aims to advance the thermoelectric field with but not limited to topological materials.
