Call For Papers

EdgeBlock 2020 (IEEE International Symposium on Edge Computing and Blockchain) is an academic conference held in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on 2020-07-06. The paper submission deadline is 2020-01-15. Acceptance notifications are sent on 2020-02-07.

The 2020 IEEE International Symposium on Edge Computing Security and Blockchain (EdgeBlock 2020) will be held in Beijing, China, in conjunction with IEEE INFOCOM 2020. EdgeBlock 2020 is an international forum for researchers to present their latest researches and perspectives on the intersection of blockchain and edge computing (including Internet of Things – IoT). This is an interdisciplinary area that is of increasingly importance. For example, in our new networked society where there are a broad range of IoT devices and cyber physical systems around us, and data from these devices and systems generated at the edge of the network are been sent to some edge devices or the cloud servers for processing and storage. The utility of blockchain in a number of applications, including to secure data-in-transit and data-at-rest in IoT and cyber physical systems, has also been explored in the research community. This is not surprising due to the inherent features of blockchain, such as decentralization and immutability. Therefore, in this workshop we are interested in determining how can we leverage blockchain characteristics to establish trusted environments for IoT, social networking, cyber security and other commercial applications. Topic of particular interest include, but not limited to: Security model, framework, and mechanism in designing blockchain-enabled edge Blockchain-based secure edge computing in social networking Blockchain-based edge in cyber-physical systems Security and privacy in blockchain and edge computing Blockchain in digital currency and Internet banking Blockchain-enabled trustful edge in 5G Cyber-attacks to blockchain and edge systems Advance artificial intelligence in blockchain and edge Edge-enhanced blockchain with FPGAs & ASICs Integrated secure communication design for edge-enhanced blockchain Integrated communication design for edge-enhanced Blockchain This workshop is also particularly interested in practical applications, which includes prototype demonstrations of novel solutions.
